What you missed:We had one of our best attended meetings with with 187 attendees. The board apologies that check in took longer than it should have... we just had twice the number of people show up as we anticipated.
The meeting was a great overview of the new landlord tenant law, Act 143. It was great that Bob Anderson of Legal Action agreed to be our guest and share with us a tenant advocate attorney perspective.

The Landlord Omnibus Bill - How it can help you & How it can hurt you
When: Monday June 18th 7 PM Where: The Best Western, 1005 S. Moorland Road, in Brookfield Who: AASEW Attorneys Tristan Pettit and Heiner Geise along with Bob Anderson, a tenant advocate attorney to present an opposing view. Cost: Free to current AASEW members, $25 to guests.
Our June meeting will focus on the new Landlord Omnibus Law AASEW Atty. Heiner Giese, Tristan Pettit and Legal Action of WI Attorney Bob Anderson a tenant advocate will do our best to explain the new law to you as well as make some recommendations on what you will need to change in order to be in compliance with the new law.
Starting at our May meeting we will be introducing a landlord tenant law education component to each of our meetings that will last approximately 10-15 minutes. Essentially, I will be taking a small segment from Landlord Boot Camp and teaching it at each meeting.
Speaking of Landlord Boot Camp, due to the strong interest in our last one, we have decided to offer it again this year for those of you who may have not been able to attend in February. It will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012. I will provide you with more information as it becomes available. |
